Arrow Electronics and Cadence expand collaboration to launch integrated OrCAD Capture Cloud for engineers

Centennial, Colo. and San Jose, Calif.—Arrow Electronics (NYSE: ARW) and Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS) today launched a free, integrated, cloud-based version of the Cadence® OrCAD® Capture design solution on arrow.com that makes it easier for design engineers, makers and other arrow.com users to integrate component research and selection within their design environment. OrCAD Capture Cloud saves significant development time, helping entrepreneurs get their products to market more quickly and cost effectively.

“Arrow.com is about more than selling electronic components—we guide makers, engineers and other innovators along their entire design and production journey. Arrow is excited to expand its collaboration with Cadence and continue bringing cutting-edge digital tools like this to our customers around the world,” said Arrow’s Chief Digital Officer Matt Anderson.

Engineers, makers and others designing new electronic products within OrCAD Capture Cloud on orcad.arrow.com can now search through the millions of components, data sheets and reference designs available on arrow.com—without ever having to leave the OrCAD design environment. They can compare component specifications and build out an entire bill of materials (BOM)—all within the tool.

“Cadence is committed to working with Arrow to enable our mutual customers to bring their ideas to market quickly and help them create innovative, high-quality electronic products,” said Tom Beckley, senior vice president and general manager of the Custom and PCB Group at Cadence. “Integrating these previously separate environments provides a unified cockpit, reduces time to market and enables users to understand the cost of their product at its inception.”

Today’s announcement is an extension of an ongoing collaboration between Arrow and Cadence. The two companies announced earlier this year that they would work together to bring integrated design tools to engineers, helping them accelerate the pace of new product development.
