Layout won't open SPECCTRA

When trying to route with SPECCTRA, I get an error that says:
Layout to SPECCTRA Version 16.2.0
Copyright 1985-2008 Cadence Design Systems, Inc.
ERROR (Layout to SPECCTRA), Unexpected DB Version found
Translate time 0 seconds
Followed by "The problem prevented translation of your file into dsn format. must be corrected before specctra router can be used"
As far as I know layout can't output a dsn file, thats a PCB editor export.
Any Ideas?
